Our Trustees

Our Trustees

When philanthropic institutions, companies and individuals generously donate funds to enable us to enrich the lives of the disadvantaged, they rightly expect the Foundation's Trustees to provide transparent, responsible use of funds, efficiently and effectively delivering what has been promised in a way that will make a difference to those in need.

Beneficiaries, who are often children, young adults and vulnerable individuals, expect supportive, inclusive programs that positively impact their lives.  Organisations who represent the vulnerable and the disadvantaged communities working with us expect the highest standards of ethical stewardship delivering what we have promised with transparency, accountability, integrity, and a strong commitment to the well-being of those being served.

Our Trustees' Commitment

The Foundation's Board of Trustees is committed to meeting and exceeding the expectations of our donors and beneficiaries.  Our Commitment is to always be unwavering in our commitment to transparency, responsible use of funds, and the delivery of impactful, inclusive programs. Our dedication to ethical stewardship extends to every facet of our work, ensuring that the trust placed in us by donors, beneficiaries, and partners is honored with the highest level of integrity and accountability.

How our Trusteeship is structured today

Our Constitution, approved by the OSCR (Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator) using the SCIO template (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) has 5 Trustee positions, of which 3 are currently filled by the Founding Trustees - namely, Loretta Doyle, Graeme Allan and Fraser Allan.  We have two Trustee vacancies.

Three existing Trustees are a quorum that has enabled us to operate so long as we have 100% agreement on all matters.  This have been beneficial in enabling us to run the Charity during the period of start-up, with speed and efficiency and with the minimum of bureaucracy.

However, we are unanimous in our desire to move to the full number of 5 Trustees as soon as possible, and for four to be new Trustees, with a diverse and appropriate range of skills, and thus replacing two of the existing Founding Trustees who will retire, but with their support continuing as unpaid Volunteers.

The future Board of Trustees' structure.

Over the next 12-24 months we will recruit four new Trustees with skills in particular segments that meet the needs of the Foundation for the delivery of our objectives.

We need the following sector skills:

  1. Sport in the Community: Not-for-profit sector
  2. Marketing & Fund Raising
  3. Legal, Secretarial & Human Resource / People Skills
  4. Business Development, Project & Programme Management

And as the Foundation expands, we anticipate the need to take on a Full Time " Managing Director" whose job will be as a paid Executive with the job of implementing Board Strategy.

Trustee Recruitment

The Board of Trustees has the objective of completing the identification, interview and recruitment of Trustees by 31 December 2025 - with at least 2 new Trustees being recruited in the next 12 months, to first of all fill existing vacancies and achieve the full Board number of five Trustees as a first step, before replacing existing Trustees who will resign.
